April 9. 2011-Funky architecture and a page

We were leaving town today and Jeff always thinks this building is pretty cool. He has been wondering if the same guy that designed it did the Disney concert hall as well. I think it looks like something that has had heat applied to it and started to melt. Funky that is for certain.

April 8, 2011-Some snow and a GRAM!

I went to Montana to see my Gram. At this trip, I learned so much about her, and I also learned we have A LOT of similarities. For instance, we have the exact same feet and shoe size. Apparently, I get my ability to forget my wallet everywhere from her (so in case you go anywhere with me, make sure you have enough money for me too!). It was such a great visit. I hauled her to Walmart with me to get our pictures taken together. We had some great laughs, too. Thanks Gram! Also, the weather report never said we would get this much snow when I checked it. It was pretty cool to see, but it made me stress about flying in it. But, it was pretty fun to see it collect on the road and the snowflakes were HUGE! I had forgotten about what spring snows were like. I am sure it will all be melted by next week. While I was freezing, the family thought they were having a heat wave at 50 degrees. Kinda funny. But, my dad, aka Mario Andretti, got me to the airport safe and sound and even sat there with me before my plane left. Thanks Dad!

April 6, 2011-A momma and a baby

I had lunch today with one of my very best friends. She recently had a daughter and it was very cool to get to meet her for the first time. She sure was a happy little bugger. It was fun to photograph someone's little one too. I wish I had turned the camera a different direction, but it's all good. Thanks for lunch J!

April 5, 2011-The church

Whenever I have driven by this little church, I always want to stop and take its photo. Today, I took the time to stop. Unfortunately for me, the backdrop (the sky) wasn't as cooperative as I would have liked it to be, but it was fun to try out new locations. It would have been nicer if it had been warmer, so would have wanted to stay out longer to try new stuff. But what I got is pretty cool.

April 3, 2011- A surnrise for a run

As I got up to run in Montana this morning, there was the most amazing sunrise. It was so incredibly cold, and I wasn't really as prepared as I should have been for the cold. But, it made it all worthwhile to get to see such beauty. After the sunrise, I tried to catch a picture of the big valley. I am not sure my pictures do it justice, and it could be that I was breathing so hard at running at higher altitude that I may have had the "huffing" shakes. I love to run in new locations and see what I can see.

March 30, 2011-Sedona

I have always wanted to see Sedona. You always hear how beautiful it is and how red the rocks are. We drove up for the day and checked it out. We even hiked a little bit.. much to my chagrin! But, it was a beautiful place and we may even come back some day.

March 29, 2011-Last day of spring training

Jeff and I finished up our spring training at the Cubs facility. I had always heard that the Cubs' fans were crazy, but they weren't kidding. Talk about some diehards!!! It was pretty cool to watch the fans though. They are all about those Cubbies.

March 28, 2011-the Dbacks

Today we went and checked out the new spring training facility for the Diamondbacks. It was a beautiful stadium. Ironically, we sat clear out in the grass and just as we sat down, a batter hit a home run and it hit this lady next to us in the chest hard enough that you could hear it thud. She is going to have some nasty laces marks on her chest. But, we went with one of our friends and had a great time and it wasn't even too hot.

March 27, 2011-A run and a zoo

One of the things I enjoy is running in a new city. So, today Jeff and I ran in Peoria. There is this cool river trail. Along it were quite a few hummingbirds. That was pretty dang cool. After we were done, we went to a zoo. It isn't as great as the San Diego Zoo, but it still had some cool stuff. You could get up close and personal with the animals. I guess they aren't worried about the giraffes eating you. But, we got to feed them and got to get really close to a hornbill. It was a nice relaxing day.

March 26, 2011-Spring training

Jeff and I went to spring training. I love baseball. Not something I really grew up with since it was a summertime sport, but I love getting to see the upcoming players and even more than that, I love to watch people. At spring training, there are plenty!
